Legacy This is a classic oxymoron. Like so much of the Bible it is contradictory.
Why waste precious time trying to make sense of the ridiculous?
hi,.
i know this is a long topix, but this week are bible highlights are 1john to jude..& i think it's 1john or whatever, says do not be part of this world because the world does not originate with the father, then another scriptures says, the world is lying in the hands of the wicked one..satan..yet, another scripture says, god so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son...all different scriptures...what is the meaning of this.
i would ask a witness but i don't want to...the forum is open to all...looking forward to comments...i just had a thought...maybe god sent his son to free those of the world, but don't he love the world..i'm confused... legacy.

the 'dubs' came by today just as the wife and i were on the way out.
we chatted a few moments and the two guys wanted to know if i had any questions about the bible.
so i asked them to drop by in a day or two and they left me with two thin magazines and a book they jokingly referred to as "the gold nugget.".
Cold Steel You could go mad trying to work it out - many have.
it seems in most congregations there is always the same personality types of brothers and sisters in each congregation.
self righteous ones.
holier than thou, exemplary, with dc/ca parts every year family.
The good, the bad, and the ugly.
i was chatting today in the sauna, as one does if you don't go to meetings about dining out.
one pleasant fellow said he would never return food, he explained it was because he is convinced the staff would do something to the food.. do you agree?.
kate xx.
KateWild Commendation goes a long way too if you are regular.
Good point.
Simon That's an important consideration - how much are we paying. We can't expect more than we pay for.
In cheap eating places I avoid hotpot meals that are reheated due to a few stomach upsets. I go for say, freshly fried gammon & chips with pineapple. You can tell I'm not Muslim.

Restaurants in the UK where I live, want to put things right on the day. They depend on repeat business. They would rather change a meal and keep their regular customers, than have people smile and pretend all is well, then never dine there again.
So, yes, I will politely sort out a problem with the restaurant, there and then. I want to keep the standard high and return again. On the rare occasions I have asked for something to be re-done, the waiters have been fantastic.
Sometimes a free drink is given for the inconvenience. But then England is such a civilised country - civilized to you lot.
ok i know some of you are going to mock me but i don't give a shit and you'd better get dafaq outta this thread if you don't beleive in this stuff.. .

That's sweet of you to be so honest. Hope all works out for you.

KateWild I am just more spiritual and caring of individuals than Dawkins is.
Having read Dawking's books and his track record of achievements, that have benefited so many people, I can not agree with your claim.
Dawkins has talent, whereas you have nothing more to offer than duplicity. You give the impression of enjoying attention more than reasoned debate.

Personaly, I find the debates by Dawking, or Richie as I call him, very useful. He sits on stage and debates with religious people. He holds them to account for every unfounded statement that is spoken as fact.
I hope he continues to stick his very British nose where it is not welcome.

I find the criticisms of R. Dawkins by some to be quite strange, he is a retired Academic and a writer, not the Messiah, even to Atheists.
Steady on there Phizzy
I am British, English actually - Dawkins is the messiah to me. He has done a great deal to enrich peoples lives and demonstrate the value of hard work and the application of knowledge.
He is adamant that the world would be better of without religion because it distorts reality. The more we are in touch with reality, the greater our chances of success in life; unless one happens to be the Pope, for god's sake.
